Shirley June Collins, age 88 of Sidney, IA (formerly Hamburg, IA) went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

Shirley June was born on May 28, 1933 in Hamburg, IA; the daughter of James and Lovilla (Webster) Stephens. She grew up and attended school in Hamburg.

She was united in marriage to Edward Harold Collins on September 13, 1951 in Hamburg, IA and to this union three boys were born: James Edward, Michael Lee and Stephen Lynn. After raising her boys, Shirley worked at a high school in Colorado in nutritions. She enjoyed crocheting, reading the Bible and collecting Hummel figurines.

She is survived by her husband Edward Collins of Sidney, IA; sons: James (Emilie) of Lincoln, NE, Michael (Margaret) of Burkburnett, TX and Stephen of Tabor, IA; nine grandchildren: Heidi Musil (John) and Tammy Kunz (Brian) both of Colorado, Stephanie Shirley, Kathy Pounds and Jennifer Smith all of North Carolina, Danielle Collins, Victoria Collins Dickerson, Jonathon Collins all of Texas, Joshua Collins (Mindy) of Colorado; eight great-grandchildren: Makayla and Caden Kunz and Lynneah Musil all of Colorado, Maria and Mason Collins, Rosie Collins of Texas, Thomas Shirley and AJ Pounds both of North Carolina; other family and friends.

Shirley June was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA with Pastor John Musil officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery southeast of Hamburg.
