Road Trip Iowa, an Iowa PBS television travel series which chronicles adventures on Iowa’s scenic byways, recently visited Hamburg and featured Stoner Drug, a business founded by the Stoner family in 1896. The current pharmacist is Megan Benefiel. She started in 2018. Phil Kuhr was Stoner’s pharmacist from 1979 until earlier this year. Stoners is now owned by three pharmacists from Rock Port, Tabor and Auburn. The Iowa PBS feature will be aired in April of 2025 as part of a feature on the Loess Hills.
