Hamburg’s Lilly Peters, a 2024 graduate from Sidney High School and freshman track athlete at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, set a personal record at Hastings College on Friday, May 2, at the Great Plains Athletic Conference meet.

She had a javelin throw of 43.5 meters (142.08 feet) and won the GPAC championship. Her personal best also broke the Briar Cliff School record and qualified her for NAIA Nationals.

She is currently sitting sixth in the nation. She will be traveling to Marion, Ind., at the end of May to compete in the national meet.

Lilly is the daughter of Matt and Kelly Peters and granddaughter of Janice Haughton, the late Rick Haughton and Renee, the late Dave Peters and Carole.
