Among the Depression-era projects that Iowans can still enjoy today are some structures built in state parks by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and murals in post offices. The original WPA 1941 mural by William E.L. Bunn of the Peony Festival in Hamburg, shown above, was destroyed when the post office was renovated in the 1970s.
