The 2025 Hamburg Spring Clean Up, sponsored by the City of Hamburg, is available to all Hamburg residents and property owners from Friday, April 25, through Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the disposal site located at the southwest intersection of George and Argyle Streets.
Hamburg residents having unwanted items too large for normal garbage pickup, such as old furniture, mattresses, carpeting and other miscellaneous junk, will be able to deposit their items in either of two large containers at the disposal site. A third large container at the site is to be used for scrap medal and other metal items such as water heaters and freezers. City staff will be available to assist if needed.
Senior and disabled citizens who are unable to transport their items can City Hall at 712-382-1313 before noon on Thursday, April 24 to arrange for pick up. The items will be picked up on Friday, April 25 between 7 a.m. and noon.
The following items will not be accepted: hazardous waste, explosives, tires, paint, or raw garbage.
Items such as brush, leaves, trees, tree limbs, and yard waste may be deposited at the City Burn Pile, located at the southeast corner of Argyle and George Street.
