Gold Buckle Productions continues positive community effects at Battle with the Bulls

Gold Buckle Productions, Inc., is looking to expand its positive community effects this year at the Battle with the Bulls event, which is set for 7 p.m. shows on June 21 and 22 at the Rodeo Arena in Sidney.

Gold Buckle Productions, Inc., a non-profit organization formed in 2019, organized the first Battle with the Bulls in 2020. Each year, Gold Buckle Productions gives back to the community through donations to local organizations in Southeast Nebraska and Southwest Iowa.

The organizations which receive support from Gold Buckle Productions are often the ones that help with putting on the Battle with the Bulls each year. The event takes a lot of hands and volunteers have stepped up to perform all sorts of tasks, from picking up trash to setting up the arena and serving meals to the event contestants in the hospitality area.

Gold Buckle Productions is hoping to expand the reach of their charitable donations this year.

And while the event gives back, it also serves up a great show to all who attend.

The 2024 the event will consist of Bull Riding, Junior Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, and Freestyle Bullfighting and Mutton Busting for the kids.

This year’s event at Sidney represents a change in both venue and event date. After two years of performances in Sidney, the August event was moved to Farragut where it thrived for more years.

Due to higher than anticipated costs, the event faced the decision of moving back to Sidney or closing.

In addition to helping the event survive, the move to Sidney and the change in date could make for a more enjoyable experience for the fans. Last year saw showtime temps over 100 degrees, so organizers are hoping changing the date will help to avoid that situation this year.

The Battle with the Bulls is made possible by the generous support of sponsors. Four sponsors have been with the event since its inception and return for 2024 along with a brand new fifth sponsor.

Stock will be provided by Double S Bulls and the Battle with the Bulls will again serve as a stop on the Extreme Bull Riding Tour.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22, for shows at 7 p.m. There will be vendors and food stands available at the site. For ticket information, visit www.battlewiththebulls.com. The cost is $15 for general admission and $25 for box seats. Kids under 5 years old get in free with a paid adult.

Following the rodeo action, fans are invited to stick around for live musical performances by Shadow Ridge Band, on Friday night, and Kevin Keith, on Saturday night.
