Astro Day Camp was the first day camp of the summer offered by the Fremont County Extension Office. Campers who have completed kindergarten through third grade got to make hoop gliders, paper airplanes, helicopters, and rockets as part of a day full of hands-on learning focused on aerospace engineering! As a treat, the campers even got to try freeze-dried ice cream! Other camps offered this summer include Clover Cookie Factory, Music and Art Day Camp, and Forensic Day Camp. Plants are really looking great this year, the much needed rain has really helped them flourish. When my flowers bloom, my gardens look amazing. It is always a little disappointing when those plants finish flowering, and they are stuck in the foliage stage for the rest of the season. However, deadheading those plants can help encourage more blooming and new growth for a more colorful garden through the summer.
Sidney students in Business Professionals of America spent four exciting days in Orlando, Florida, to compete at the national level.
The Sidney SRO (School Resource Officer) Assistant Sophia spent the morning learning about law enforcement tools, completing security checks, learning all about CRT K9 Sally, doing a ride-along, visiting the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office , etc. A BIG thanks to SRO Logan Roberts for sharing his time with a truly excited student! The Iowa State Patrol visited Mrs. Reynolds PE classes and brought the Seat Belt Convincer with them for students to ride to demonstrate how important it is to wear seat belts. Buckle up! Seat belts do save lives!
