Cowboys fall to strong Irish squad

A strong Falls City Sacred Heart team handed the Sidney boys’ basketball team a 65-30 set back during action last week. Scoring for the Cowboys were Garrett Phillips, seven; Grant Whitehead, six; Conner Behrends, six; Cole Jorgensen, four; Kyle Beam, four; Matthew Benedict, two; and Jacob Hobbie, one.

Cowgirls top SW Valley, Essex

Victories over Southwest Valley, 48-32, and Essex, 59-26, raised Sidney’s record to 14-6 overall and 6-3 in Corner Conference play. Cowboys show character in third place finish at Corner

The Sidney boys’ basketball team scored two wins in three games of the Corner Conference basketball tournament. Cowboys 81, Griswold 43 Leading scorers for Sidney were Cole Jorgenson, 25 points including four three-point baskets; Breadon Godfread, 11; Kyle Beam, 11; Garrett Phillips, 10; Matthew Benedict, six; Taylor McFail, six; Conner Behrends, four; and Richard Rost, Grant Whitehead, Nik Peters and Jeryn Parmer, two each.
