
Sidney Volleyball
It took four sets, but the Sidney volleyball team was able to top Fremont-Mills in their final home match of the 2022 season on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The match honored seniors who were playing their final match on the home court. And the night was dedicated to former Sidney High School student Zayne Osborne, who is currently battling cancer. Fremont Mills High School joined Sidney in honoring Zayne’s cancer fight and t-shirts were sold and worn in Zayne’s honor. Pictured are members of the Sidney team wearing their t-shirts. Scores from the Tuesday match were 25-11, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-18. Sidney stat leaders were as follows: Kaden Payne hit for 19 kills and Addy Haning had 13. Avery Dowling set for 44 assists. Dowling, Fallon Sheldon and Mia Foster all served for two aces. Dig leaders were Emily Hutt, 15; and Eve Brumbaugh and Aunika Hayes, 14 each.
