Richard “Dick” V. Wheeler Jr., 93, of Hamburg, Iowa, formerly of Shubert, Nebraska, was born on November 25, 1928, in rural Howe, Nebraska to Richard V. Sr. and Helen (Andrew) Wheeler. He was raised with his family near Stella where he attended school and graduated from Stella High School.
Ruth Lavern White, a Hamburg resident the last 63 years, died early Sunday morning, at the Ambassador in Sidney. She was born at home, April 30, 1928 in Dale Township, Atchison County Missouri. Her parents were Donald Emmit Douglas and Esther Bradfield.

Roger Allen Rasmussen, the son of Einer and Clara (Gregersen) Rasmussen, was born January 5, 1940 at the hospital in Audubon, IA. Roger was a great blessing as he came 9 years after his sister, Ruth. Roger went to high school and graduated at Exira, IA High School. He went to college at the College of Agriculture at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Roger then went into the U.S. Army for 3 years as a Pay Specialist. Before retirement, he worked at First Data Resources in Omaha, NE for 13 years as a Call Specialist. James W. Folkes, 80, of Hamburg, Iowa passed away on May 27, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was born August 20, 1941 in Hamburg to Vernon and Marjorie (Omer) Folkes. Jim went to school through 8th grade at Valley Farm country school and graduated from Hamburg High School with the class of 1960. He married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Hein, on April 28, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children, Diane and Jeffrey.
On October 26, 1926, Carl Wayne (Bub) Smith, Jr. was born to Carl Wayne Smith and Mary Lylith (Pauly) Smith in Hamburg, Iowa. They lived on a farm east of Hamburg, north of the Golden Rod and he attended Liberty Country School with his younger sister, Madge Lee. C. Wayne attended high school at Hamburg High, where he graduated in 1944 as class president.
Russell Grant Welch was born on May 18, 1955, in Robbinsdale, MN, to Russell N. Welch and Margarette (Marge) Runyon Welch. To welcome Russ home was his older brother, Charles (Chuck). Later his family was joined by Scott, Leroy and finally the baby and only sister, Allene. His entire childhood was spent in the Minneapolis area.

Delores Cavner, 84, Hamburg, IA passed on Thurs. Feb. 24, 2022 at the Ambassador in Sidney, IA. Irma Delores Cavner was born on February 22, 1938 in Topeka, KS; the daughter of Howard and Lucille (Archer) Huntley. On August 3, 1954 she was united in marriage to William Cavner.
