Three Fremont County Rodeo Contestants have qualified for the National Junior High Finals Rodeo on July 12-19th in Rock Springs, WY. Each of them will compete two times and hope to make it in the top twenty. The top twenty go to the “short go” to compete for the National Finals! Best of luck to our Rodeo Athletes!
Stoner Drug celebrated the retirement of Pam Mundinger on June 16th. Pam had worked at Stoner Drug for 26 years.
Grape Community Hospital hosted an InstaPot Party on June 21 at the United Methodist Church in Hamburg. Attendees tried received recipes and enjoyed a tasting. Playfly Sports and Nebraska Athletics announced Monday the hiring of Kyle Crooks as the new play-by-play voice of Nebraska Football. In his role as the Director of Broadcasting for the Huskers Radio Network, Crooks will also co-host the network’s Sports Nightly show.
Tractor supply in Clarinda donated recently donated five boxes of seed starting items, vegetable seeds, and flower seeds for students to use in the greenhouse at the Hamburg Charter School when classes resume in August. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.
The Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program is currently accepting applications for the 2026 program year. Eligible communities are those with populations of fewer than 10,000 residents, existing transportation-related issues, and a committee of volunteers willing to dedicate their time and talent to the visioning process. Only communities located within 1 mile of a state or federal highway will be selected.
It’s been almost a decade since Josh Lehman and his teammates on the Blue Devil baseball team wrapped up the final sport at Nishnabotna High School and Lehman is still thriving in athletics.
Astro Day Camp was the first day camp of the summer offered by the Fremont County Extension Office. Campers who have completed kindergarten through third grade got to make hoop gliders, paper airplanes, helicopters, and rockets as part of a day full of hands-on learning focused on aerospace engineering! As a treat, the campers even got to try freeze-dried ice cream! Other camps offered this summer include Clover Cookie Factory, Music and Art Day Camp, and Forensic Day Camp.
