The Sidney Brew invites all residents of Fremont County to build and enter a Scarecrow in our Great Scarecrow Contest 2025 this fall. The goal is to have all Scarecrows built and displayed in Gazebo Park by Oct 1. Scarecrows can be placed prior to Oct 1.
Percival Hometown Pride hosted their second annual 0.5K run. They had popsicles, donuts, hydration stations, and finisher medals. 50+ competitors “ran” through Percival and ended at the park. A few were even dressed in cow attire!

Mandy Maher has accepted the position of regional director for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach serving Pottawattamie (east and west offices), Cass and Adair counties in western Iowa. She begins the position Sept. 29.
Shelbie Gibson (Driever), grew up in Sidney Iowa, Rodeo Town USA, and was proud to be a part of the Two County Dusters, the Fremont and Page County Drill Team, for many years. Her last year was 2013.
The 2025 Sidney Iowa Rodeo Queen and all the Rodeo Royalty stopped at the Lakin Library to share about themselves, talk about the rodeo and do some crafting with patrons. The library sends their thanks and is looking forward to another visit next year. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.
