The first institution of higher learning in Nebraska will hold its 2023 commencement on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m. Peru State’s annual event will be held in the Al Wheeler Activity Center on the College’s campus. Nearly 400 master’s and undergraduate degrees will be conferred.
Wayne State College will hold commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students tomorrow (Saturday, May 6) in the college’s historic Willow Bowl amphitheater. The graduate student ceremony will be at 10 a.m., and the undergraduate ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held in Rice Auditorium.
Thanks to perseverance, teamwork, and innovation, a 1920s era ELI windmill once again spins in the skies over Nebraska City. The restored and regalvanized mill was the site of an afternoon ribbon cutting on Thursday, April 27, near the Greenhouse at Arbor Day Farm.
The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts presents “Canceled Because of War” by Olena Mosiyevych, which will be on display through June 16. A Gallery Talk will be hosted on Thursday, May 18, at 5 p.m.
Kelsie Gaines, Jamie Copenharve, Alex Henzel, and Jakob Trosper are physical and health education majors at Peru State Collage. These students were recognized as Physical and Health Education Majors of the year and presented research at the 2023 Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America and Conference held in Seattle, Wash.
Dr. Kelly Kingsley, associate professor of education at Peru State College, has released her latest children’s book, A True Friend, which was published by Handersen Publishing on April 10.
