Members of the Sidney City Council recently voted unanimously to approve the appointment of Sandra Bengtson to fill the vacancy left on the council when Justin Shirley won the mayoral position following a special election last month.Sandra was a 1977 Sidney High School graduate and lifelong Fremont County resident, Bengtson worked as a legal assistant for 24 years before retiring in 2020.
