Hy-Vee dietitians provide health fair and virtual cooking and nutrition classes Throughout January, Hy-Vee’s registered dietitians will host events focused on healthy habits and nutrition to begin the new year. The dietitian team will host educational events, including virtual store tours and cooking classes, as well as an in-person health fair at select locations.

Dry conditions expected to persist for the Missouri River Basin

The 2021 calendar year runoff summation for the Missouri River basin above Sioux City, Iowa was 15.2 million acre-feet, 59 percent of average. The ongoing drought shows no relief in sight and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is predicting runoff into the mainstem reservoir system will remain below normal. This was the 10th lowest annual runoff for the Missouri River Basin in 123 years of record-keeping.

Tree of Lights

The George C. Grape Community Hospital Auxiliary is thrilled with the response to their 2021 Tree of Lights campaign. There were 283 lights lit on the tree in front of the hospital in memory or in honor of loved ones this Christmas season. The glow from those lights will continue through the coming year as the Grape Hospital Auxiliary uses your donations to help fund their 2021 projects.
