During past meetings, the Fremont County board of supervisors have discussed establishing a proposed drainage district at Highway 2 and Interstate 29. The board decided, at its April 2 meeting to wait on making a decision until changes are made to a resolution between the county and businesses.

Gov. Reynolds has announced a $100 million investment to bolster the quality of life in Iowa’s communities and attract visitors and new residents to the state. The new effort, called Destination Iowa, will provide grants to help communities move forward on transformational, shovel-ready attractions. Cities, counties, nonprofits and other organizations can apply for Destination Iowa grants from four separate funds: Economically Significant Development, Outdoor Recreation, Tourism Attraction, and Creative Placemaking.

Approximately 1,500 TeamMates mentors and mentees attended the Husker Red-White Spring Game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Saturday, April 9th. All who attended enjoyed the warm weather, the Husker win as well as the opportunity to attend the annual scrimmage for the first time since pre-covid event in 2019. CEO DeMoine Adams said, “We are grateful to the University for this opportunity to have 40 of our 139 TeamMates chapters participate in this great event. Because of Covid, we have not been able to have TeamMates Matches events for some time, and we are certainly looking forward to hosting and attending more events in the future.”
