Naig invites students to join 2022 Choose Iowa Calendar contest

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig is encouraging school-age students to participate in the 2022 Choose Iowa Calendar Contest hosted by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Artwork submitted should feature at least one aspect of Iowa agriculture — food, livestock, crops or renewable fuels, for example. Submissions will be judged on both creativity and the ability to connect agriculture to everyday life.

I think this Easter may have single-handedly created an egg shortage. It isn’t enough that the Asian Bird Flu is thinning the flocks of laying hens. Easter 2022 has just been celebrated with an abundance of everything!

County Sheriff’s Report

Sheriff Kevin Aistrope reports that on April 13, 2022, Ashley Frost, 32, of Hamburg was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated (first offense) and reckless driving. Frost was also cited for no SR-22 insurance, violation of a restricted license (ignition interlock), and a stop sign violation.
