Food Drive at Hamburg CSD

The Hamburg Charter High School FCCLA Chapter recently hosted its inaugural Food Drive, an effort to bring the community together to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity. The K-6 grade which collected the most items was treated to an ice cream sundae party. Drop-offs were made to the Hamburg CSD between Feb. 25 and 28. Hamburg Cake Fundraiser 2025

Liam Clements, a student at Hamburg Community Schools, was named as the winner of the Hamburg Cake Fundraiser Contest. Students were assigned to write a paper and draw a picture of the cake they wanted to design. Wendy Pitts-Duncan of Annie’s Boutique Bakery, a sponsor of the fundraiser, received the top three student papers and was tasked with choosing the winner. This year’s winner chose a beach theme for his cake. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.

Kiefer makes directorial debut with Robinson Crusoe

Lacey Kiefer of Percival is making her directorial debut with the play Robinson Crusoe at the Southwest Iowa Theatre Group Park Playhouse in Shenandoah. The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on March 7 and 9. The theater is located at 604 Sportsmans Park Road. Reserve tickets at 712-246-1061.
