Hospital hosts free movie night

George C. Grape Hospital sponsored a free night at the Colonial Theater in Hamburg over the weekend with 127 in attendance to see Snow White starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. Many Princesses could be found in the audience and a wicked witch handed out apples to all! It was a great night at the theater. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.

Secretary Naig invites Iowans to celebrate Iowa Ag Week

Gov. Kim Reynolds has proclaimed March 24-31 as Iowa Agriculture Week, and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig is inviting every Iowan to participate in the statewide celebration. The weeklong celebration highlights agriculture’s many significant contributions to our state’s economy and way of life. In addition, Iowans are encouraged to identify volunteer and service opportunities to further underscore agriculture’s positive impact in our communities.

Hamburg Egg Relay

Elementary students at the Hamburg Community School District recently participated in an egg relay as part of its celebration of Dr. Seuss. A Dr. Seuss egg relay activity, inspired by the book Green Eggs and Ham, involves teams balancing eggs on spoons and racing to a designated point, then returning to pass the egg to the next team member. Farm School at Hamburg

Students at the Hamburg Farm School are getting the garden ready for this summer. Elementary students have been starting tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and cabbages from seed. Those plants are transplanted from original pots to larger containers to allow them to continue the growth process. First graders have been a big help with planting tomatoes and got to take tomato plants home.
