Various organizations urge women to familiarize themselves with their breasts and conduct somewhat routine selfexams so they can uncover any lumps or other issues that may warrant further examination by a physician. Though selfexams can lead to discovery of breast cancer when the disease is most treatable, the World Health Organization notes that as many as 90 percent of breast masses are not cancerous. Non-cancerous abnormalities may be benign masses such as fibroadenoma and cysts or indicative of infection. It’s also important that women recognize that breast cancer is not always accompanied by a lump. In fact, the Mayo Clinic reports that many women with breast cancer never experience any signs or symptoms of the disease. In such instances, the disease is discovered during screening tests, which include mammograms.

Special Visitor from East Africa

Old Hamburg High / St Cornelius Orthodox Christian Retreat Center of Hamburg hosted a special visitor last weekend as Abbah (Father) John Methodious Kariuki visited from Kenya, East Africa. Abbah Kariuki was treated to a special luncheon and a tour of the Hamburg and the surrounding area. In a post on it’s Facebook page, the Hamburg organization noted, “He is helping us to understand mission work both for us here in America and for the Patriarcate of Alexandria in Africa.” From left are John (Cornelius) Connor, Fr. I’ve been hooked on newspapers for as long as I can remember. My daughter knows that and recently gifted me with a box of the Weeping Water Republicans. They were in pristine condition and chock full of information. That weekly paper was delivered to the mailbox of the subscriber for a mere $3.50 if you lived in Cass County. If you lived anywhere in Nebraska you had to add 50 cents to that.

Maidrites in the Park
