On May 7, Hamburg FFA officers visited with the 6th graders and an incoming freshman who shows interest in joining FFA next year. Officers talked about what FFA is, how it works, and how members can be active within their local chapter.

Mentors and mentees of the Hamburg TeamMates chapter gathered Thursday afternoon for their End of the Year Bash. Yard games were enjoyed, as well as hot dogs and smores. There are currently 19 mentees and 20 mentors.

Four members of the 8th grade Leadership class in Sidney Volunteered their time to work at the Colonial Theatre in Hamburg on May 3. As a reminder, anyone can volunteer just send a message on the Colonial Theater Facebook or contact Erica Stephens, board president. This is a requirement of 8th Graders to volunteer in their communities!
Mr. Whitehead took Sidney students to the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held on April 11th at DMACC in Ankeny. Ireland Fry and Mavryc Morgan competed in the Welding Sculpture Division. Ben Kingsolver, Flynt Bell, and Andreas Buttry competed in the Welding Individual Skills Division. Seven youth weighed and tagged 26 lambs, and nine youth weighed and tagged 17 goats at the Fremont County Fairgrounds on April 23 as 4-H and FFA projects.
