Southwest Iowa Community Foundations Fall Program open

The Community Foundations of Southwest Iowa is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted from organizations providing charitable services in seven counties: Audubon, Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, and Shelby. Page and Crawford counties participate in proactive grantmaking during the fall rather than accepting applications. More than $430,000 is available across the seven listed counties in this grant cycle, and those interested in a breakdown of the funding can learn more at swiowafoundations.org.

Sidney FFA at the Fair

Ag Instructor Abby Pendleton reported that six Sidney FFA members proudly showed their 4H projects at the FC Fair. Projects included horse, cattle, goats, sheep, static, and cherry pies. Participating members were Ellie Ward, Keyana Haggerty, Clara Haggerty, Czandrya Morgan, Lyla Brooks, and Sheyanne Simmons. Iowa 4-H STEM in Motion Trip to Iceland showcases real-world science and career exploration

Sheyanne Simmons of Fremont County was among a group of Iowa’s future leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics who embarked on a transformative journey through Iceland, June 7-13, as part of STEM in Motion, an innovative 4-H Youth Development program from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
