Mentors and mentees of the Hamburg TeamMates chapter gathered Thursday afternoon for their End of the Year Bash. Yard games were enjoyed, as well as hot dogs and smores. There are currently 19 mentees and 20 mentors.

The Colonial Theater recently hosted a special watch party to view an episode of Road Trip Iowa that featured Hamburg.

Hamburg’s Lilly Peters, a 2024 graduate from Sidney High School and freshman track athlete at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, set a personal record at Hastings College on Friday, May 2, at the Great Plains Athletic Conference meet.

Four members of the 8th grade Leadership class in Sidney Volunteered their time to work at the Colonial Theatre in Hamburg on May 3. As a reminder, anyone can volunteer just send a message on the Colonial Theater Facebook or contact Erica Stephens, board president. This is a requirement of 8th Graders to volunteer in their communities!

The United Faith Church in Sidney enjoyed a successful Fish Fry event on April 4 and donated the proceeds to the Sidney Schools Meal Account Fund. Sidney JR-SR High art students recently competed in the Spring Celebrating Art contest. This contest is a national online art competition designed to help give recognition to art students and support art education programs. It is sponsored by Blick Art materials. The following students will have their artwork published in the annual Celebrating Art Book. Mr. Whitehead took Sidney students to the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held on April 11th at DMACC in Ankeny. Ireland Fry and Mavryc Morgan competed in the Welding Sculpture Division. Ben Kingsolver, Flynt Bell, and Andreas Buttry competed in the Welding Individual Skills Division. A community-wide annual celebration from the 1940s is being reborn this spring in Tarkio. The Tarkiesta celebration will be held on May 25. This year’s theme will be centered on celebrating the 200th birthday of David Rankin.
