The Hamburg Charter High School FCCLA Chapter recently hosted its inaugural Food Drive, an effort to bring the community together to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity. The K-6 grade which collected the most items was treated to an ice cream sundae party. Drop-offs were made to the Hamburg CSD between Feb. 25 and 28. On Feb 19, Hamburg FFA traveled to Stanton to compete and watch Leadership Development Events. Jenna Hall competed in the Arc/Wire Welding Competition and tied for 1st place! Jenna will compete at Districts on March 1 in Jefferson, Iowa. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.

Fifty-four guests enjoyed the inaugural Sadie Hawkins Event on Saturday at the Williams-Jobe- Gibson American Legion Building.

The Special Olympics Regional Basketball tournament was held on Jan. 30 at Iowa Western Community College. Sidney’s Terry Moyer placed seventh while Audrey Goodman and Xavier Ratliff placed third. Mallari Olson and Helaena Wheeler placed first and will proceed to the state competition on Saturday March 15 in Iowa City. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.
