Defense bill protects homeland, supports U.S. service members

Since John F. Kennedy was president, Congress has annually passed a bipartisan defense bill – the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) – outlining our national security priorities. During the past two years, President Biden’s doctrine of appeasement has failed to meet growing threats around the globe, and the need for Congressional oversight to ensure military strength has greatly increased.

Food Collection Contest

Hamburg’s Charter High School 9th Grade Civics Class did a contest with students from Pre-K through 6th grade to help supply the Hamburg Inter-Church Food Pantry. The students brought food items to school and the class that brought the most items we treated to a pizza party. The students nearly 3,000 food items to the pantry. Farmland value continue to rise in Iowa

One year after skyrocketing 29%, the average value of an acre of Iowa farmland jumped another 17%, or $1,660, to $11,411 per acre. The nominal value of an acre of farmland is again higher this year than at any point since Iowa State University began surveying values in 1941. When adjusting for inflation, the 2022 average value surpasses the previous inflation-adjusted record value set in 2013 for the first time.

Northwest Missouri State releases fall honor rolls

The Office of the Registrar at Northwest Missouri State University announced students named to the Academic or President’s honor rolls at the end of the 2022 fall semester. To be included on the Academic Honor Roll, a student must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours and attain a grade-point average of 3.50 or above on a 4.00 scale.

Naig encourages ag census participation

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig is encouraging Iowa farmers and producers to participate in the 2022 Census of Agriculture, which is underway across the nation through Feb. 6, 2023.
