The Morning After

Well, I amazed that the sun is coming up after all this morning. At least in Kansas City! I can imagine there are people in that great city that haven’t gone to bed yet because they didn’t want Sunday to end! I am at least wise enough to know which side “my bread is buttered on” with my family.

Gary Whipple, commander of the American Legion Post 128 in Sidney, recently presented awards to three fifth-grade students at Sidney Elementary for their “What the Flag Means to Me” essays. Winning first place at the local and district levels and moving on to state competition is KC Sparks.

Local Food Leader Certification virtual classes begin March 23

The next virtual Local Food Leader Certification will be held this spring, hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. The certification is intended for beginning local food practitioners, although it is open for anyone who is interested in food systems development and collaboration.
