Following the flood of March 2019, the Fremont County Long Term Disaster Recovery Group (FCLTDRG) was resurrected to help in recovery. Its efforts included the distribution of nearly $240,000 in financial assistance, and the coordination of other goods and services to aid hundreds of flood survivors. With the flood finally in the past, the group is reorganizing to focus on preparing for future disasters, ensuring everyone is ready to respond efficiently and equitably in providing aid. FCLTDRG is now known as Fremont County Disaster Coalition (FCDC).

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig encourages eligible Iowa farm owners to apply for the 2023 Century and Heritage Farm Program now through June 1.
