Last chance private pesticide continuing instruction course

The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program will be offering a “Last Chance” Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for private pesticide applicators at county extension offices throughout the state. The course will fulfill 2022 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators.

Knights take runner up at state dance

In its fourth year of competitive dance and first year at the state tournament, Lourdes Central Catholic earned a runner up finish for Hip Hop in Class C2. Louisville won the championship.

Live streamed continuing instruction courses for Spring 2023

The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program will be hosting live-streamed Private and Commercial Continuing Instruction Courses (P-CIC & C-CIC) online training this spring as an additional opportunity for private and commercial pesticide applicators to be trained. Attendees will need a computer and a good internet connection to participate in the programs. Applicators can register by going to the Extension Store (https:// store.extension.iastate.edu) and searching for “Live Streamed”. Here is the schedule for the remaining statewide CIC reshow dates and times: Private Continuing Instruction Courses April 4, 9-11:30 a.m. Commercial Continuing Instruction Courses Commercial Ag Weed, Insect, and Plant Disease Management (CCA CEU’s Available), Categories 1A, 1B, and 1C March 30, 6-8:30 p.m. Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators, Categories 3O, 3T, and 3OT March 30, 1-3:30 p.m.

Maddy Duncan named February Athlete of Month at Peru State

Hamburg’s Maddy Duncan was named the female February Athlete of the Month at Peru State College. Duncan played and started in all six games for the Bobcats in the month of the February scoring 12.5 points per game shooting 35.2% from the field, 32.5% from beyond the arc and 92.3% from the free throw line.

Young Sidney track team will look to build on strengths

A total of 34 athletes, with 20 boys and 14 girls, are out for track and field at Sidney High School this season. Coach Donnie Sears said the Sidney teams are underclassmen heavy with the boys’ team having 17 freshmen or sophomores and the girls’ team having nine freshmen or sophomores.
