The George C. Grape Community Hospital Auxiliary is very pleased with the response to their 2021Tree of Lights campaign. Over 250 purple lights are lit on the tree in front of the hospital in memory or in honor of loved ones this Christmas season. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Travel Iowa invite Iowans to step outside and enjoy Iowa state parks and forests in the 2022 First Day Hike Challenge. Visitors can ring in the New Year with the Parks Passport on their own, or by joining park staff on a guided hike.
The DNR Parks, Forests and Preserves Bureau has openings for recreational aides and seasonal patrol officers for the summer 2022 season across the state park system. Jobs duties will include assisting park staff in patrolling the park, helping visitors, registering campers, and maintaining the park through duties such as mowing, trimming, cleaning, trail work and facility repairs.
