I mentioned the new sandwich shop, Relax And Unwind, north of the old Connor’s store location, for some unknown reason, I then switched to the west side of Main at the far south end of the business district. One of my favorite parables describes the difference between heaven and hell. In both places, hungry people sit at tables laden with delicious food. In hell, people suffer and starve because they cannot eat with the long utensils provided. In heaven, people are happy and thrive because they use the utensils to feed each other.
Iowa Cattelmen’s Association to offer free, educational programs
The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association will host three educational programs in early 2022. Cattle Producer Forums will be held in January and March, and are free to attend. Each program will include a meal, educational sessions, a tradeshow, and an industry update from the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and Iowa Beef Industry Council.

Chuck Schumer and Washington Democrats can’t seem to find their way. After a largely unproductive year in 2021, just before Christmas, Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) torpedoed the Democrats’ reckless tax-and-spending bill, citing the concerns of many Iowans and Americans regarding skyrocketing inflation and the trillions it will add to our nation’s debt.
