The final weeks of winter, and even the first few weeks of spring, are still chilly in many parts of the world. Despite those last vestiges of winter chills, late winter is a great time to begin preparing gardens for the coming planting season.

Once spring arrives, thoughts turn to April Fool’s Day, Easter, wind, rain, and flowers. How about enjoying these new spring days with a book or two that feature springtime? Several of the easy reading selections are on the Accelerated Reader booklist as well.

Ukraine can win this war

Last weekend, I led a group of ten senators, Republicans, Democrats, and even one Independent, on a bipartisan Senate delegation visit to Poland and Germany. We traveled together to demonstrate America’s unwavering support for the freedom-loving people of Ukraine and affirm the strength of the world’s most powerful alliance. Sidney girls track feature sprinters for 2022

A total of 14 athletes, including 10 returners, are out for the Sidney Cowgirl track and field team this spring. Coach Donnie Sears said the roster features mainly sprinters this year with a few throwers and distance runners as well.

Mt. Olive Cemetery celebrates annual fish fry

The Mt. Olive Cemetery Association reported a wonderful turnout at its annual fish fry free will donation event, which took place on March 19 at the Hamburg Firehouse.
