Following the adjournment of the 2022 legislative session, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig issued the following statement congratulating state legislators on a successful session that saw major accomplishments for Iowa farmers and the agricultural community:
In an effort to increase awareness of invasive species and the impact they have on Iowa’s ecosystems and economy, Governor Kim Reynolds recently proclaimed June as Invasive Species Awareness Month in Iowa. Each year, public and private organizations spend millions of dollars in an effort to control invasive plants, insects, diseases and animal species in Iowa’s woodlands and urban areas.
Peru State men’s basketball head coach Bob Ludwig recently announced that the men’s basketball program will be hosting an Offensive Skills Camp Monday, August 1, through Wednesday, August 3. The camp will be for boys in the third grade through high school seniors. The camp will be from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., each day and walk in registration will be that Monday at 8:30 a.m.
Peru State head volleyball coach Madison Kindle recently announced the volleyball program will be hosting a skills camp on Wednesday, July 20. The camp will be for high school players looking to continue their careers at the collegiate level. The camp runs from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and lunch will be provided.
On May 24, Gov. Kim Reynolds released the following statements on the conclusion of the 2022 legislative session: “This legislative session, I charged the House and Senate to work together to further advance Iowa’s strong growth through policies that cut taxes, invest in biofuels and strengthen our families, communities, schools, workforce and economy.
James W. Folkes, 80, of Hamburg, Iowa passed away on May 27, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was born August 20, 1941 in Hamburg to Vernon and Marjorie (Omer) Folkes. Jim went to school through 8th grade at Valley Farm country school and graduated from Hamburg High School with the class of 1960. He married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Hein, on April 28, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children, Diane and Jeffrey.
Peru State head baseball coach Wayne Albury has announced that the Peru State baseball team will be holding tryouts on Sunday, June 19, starting at 2 p.m., at the Centennial Complex Baseball Field on the College’s campus.
Peru State women’s basketball head coach Ian Holleran recently announced that the Peru State women’s basketball team will be hosting a skills camp in late July from Wednesday, July 27 through Friday, July 29.
