Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media A solid defense and an enthusiastic senior class figure to have the Sidney volleyball team in the hunt for wins and postseason success in 2022. Coach Amy McClintock, who is in her ninth year leading the program, said the team has varsity experience with eight returners having logged regular playing time.
Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media The 2022 version of the Sidney High School football team is hoping to leave an impression on opponents this fall. Shawn Thompson, who is taking the reins from long-time Sidney Head Coach Donnie Sears, said the Cowboys team goal is to have opponents leaving the field on Friday nights thinking, “Wow, Sidney brings it and the boys play with lots of heart and fire.” Thompson also noted that it is important that the athletes represent the Sidney school with class.
Communication events were a highlight of the Fremont County Fair’s Say It, Set It, Strut It! Event held on the fairgrounds in Sidney. The 2022 communications events were judged by Linda Thompson of Omaha, NE.
Many youth participated in the 2022 Fremont County Fair pedal tractor pull on the fairgrounds. In the 4 and under range, Bentley Johnson had a full pull for first place.
The 2022 Fremont County Fair Dog, Cat and Pet show brought a variety of beloved pets to the fairgrounds. Results for the dog show included the following: In the intermediate dog showmanship class, Lana Alley (Riverside Rockets) received a purple ribbon.
