Meseck wraps reign as Sidney Iowa Rodeo Queen

Jessica Meseck, the 2024 Sidney Iowa Rodeo Queen completed her reign by judging the Sidney Rodeo Days princess pageant.

“I had such a great time, and all of these girls did a fabulous job,” said Meseck.

Pictured with Meseck is Allison Stephenson, the 2025 Rodeo Days Princess.

Meseck also visited the Rodeo Museum and posed for a picture with a dress made the Sidney Iowa Rodeo Queen of 1938.

The dress was made by Hamley and Co. In Pendleton, Ore. The company is still in business today. At that time, the rodeo board paid for the outfit. This outfit was worn from 1938-1947 (excluding the years during WW2).

“It is awe inspiring to see how much rodeo traditions have evolved over the years,” said Maseck.

Queens who wore the dress and the year they wore the dress were:

Marjorie Ettleman, 1938

Erma Faye Hatten, 1939

Barbara Polk, 1940

Norman Jean Johnson, 1941

Phyllis Wright, 1942
