Sidney Iowa Rodeo to feature outstanding entertainment
This year’s Sidney Iowa Rodeo, Iowa’s Oldest Continuous Outdoor Rodeo, will feature the outstanding entertainment of Specialty Act Rider and Bethany Keisner. Bethany is a trick rider, and Rider is a trick roper, master of the bullwhip, and master gun spinner. The pair were the 2020 PRCA Dress Act of the Year and performed seven times at the National Finals Rodeo. They have many other accolades.
Wildfire Smoke
Canadian wildfire related smoke is visible in southwest Iowa in this photo submitted to the Hamburg Reporter by Hamburg’s Judith Holliman. Smoke from the fires has been reported to have affected air quality and visibility in Iowa with hazy skies and unhealthy air quality ratings.

As I’ve had some time to reflect on my life and time to visit with friends a little more intently, I’ve learned some lessons and so have they. We’ve learned that in this life we can only control what’s in “our lane,” and that worrying about friends, family and others only gives us more stress when all along it’s not our job to fix the world, change people, protect our babies or to judge our neighbors.
Battle with the Bulls gets help from Sidney football players
The Battle with the Bulls Committee would like to send a big thank you to the Sidney gootball team for setting up the arena and back pens on the Friday morning before the Battle With The Bulls event and also for taking all the heavy gates and chutes down on Sunday after the event. This group worked in the heat on Friday and again in the mud and rain on Sunday morning.

Orthopedic medicine is truly a team sport; we have the opportunity to collaborate with nonsurgical professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, among others, to deliver comprehensive musculoskeletal care. While there are proven surgical options to help our patients where indicated, in many cases, patients are able to achieve pain relief and improved function with nonsurgical treatment options. Much of orthopedic surgical training is appropriately dedicated to the planning and execution of surgery, but it is also important to understand and recognize patients who present with conditions readily addressed without surgery and the accompanying risks of invasive procedures. It is also important to advocate the idea of prevention.
Free Sports Physicals
Medical Clinic LLC is offering free sports physicals by appointment for middle school and high school athletes. A parent or legal guardian will need to be present at the time o fhte physical or a signed physical form will need to come with the athlete.
