Sidney JR-SR High art students recently competed in the Spring Celebrating Art contest. This contest is a national online art competition designed to help give recognition to art students and support art education programs. It is sponsored by Blick Art materials. The following students will have their artwork published in the annual Celebrating Art Book. A community-wide annual celebration from the 1940s is being reborn this spring in Tarkio. The Tarkiesta celebration will be held on May 25. This year’s theme will be centered on celebrating the 200th birthday of David Rankin.
The Sidney girls’ golfers beat Tri Center in a dual last week with the Cowgirls posting a 194 compared to 253. Marley Shull was the top shooter with a 42. Other Sidney individual scores were posted by Ellie Ward, 49; Alyssa Dowling, 49; Jocelyn Tackett, 54; Addyson Foster, 56; and Adysen Jimeson, 63.

My husband, Mike, and I recently traveled to North Carolina to visit Mike’s son and his family.
Dementia is a progressive condition that results in decline in cognitive function. People with dementia have increasing difficulties with short term memory, thinking, and reasoning. For family members it can be hard to watch the decline in a loved one who is struggling with dementia. Interacting when someone has dementia can be difficult. Following these three Golden Rules can help.

Some of my favorite books to unpack at the library are for children. Their covers are always colorful and well-illustrated, because they want to catch attention. I love the new topics as well as the new approaches to old classics. Besides picture books are fun to read together with young audiences.
