Large print books make it easier for some of our patrons to read, but the novels can be checked out by anyone. Few of the books in large print are duplicates of ones in regular font, so patrons may find something new in the large print section at Hamburg Public Library.
Mentors and mentees of the Hamburg TeamMates chapter gathered Thursday afternoon for their End of the Year Bash. Yard games were enjoyed, as well as hot dogs and smores. There are currently 19 mentees and 20 mentors.
The Colonial Theater recently hosted a special watch party to view an episode of Road Trip Iowa that featured Hamburg.

Mr. Whitehead’s CTE Class at Sidney High School visited the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, NE. The students were able to take in a lot of history on automobiles, engines, and racing.
Hamburg’s Lilly Peters, a 2024 graduate from Sidney High School and freshman track athlete at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, set a personal record at Hastings College on Friday, May 2, at the Great Plains Athletic Conference meet.
Four members of the 8th grade Leadership class in Sidney Volunteered their time to work at the Colonial Theatre in Hamburg on May 3. As a reminder, anyone can volunteer just send a message on the Colonial Theater Facebook or contact Erica Stephens, board president. This is a requirement of 8th Graders to volunteer in their communities!
The United Faith Church in Sidney enjoyed a successful Fish Fry event on April 4 and donated the proceeds to the Sidney Schools Meal Account Fund. Mr. Whitehead took Sidney students to the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held on April 11th at DMACC in Ankeny. Ireland Fry and Mavryc Morgan competed in the Welding Sculpture Division. Ben Kingsolver, Flynt Bell, and Andreas Buttry competed in the Welding Individual Skills Division.
