As school is wrapping up the Hamburg Welding students have been working on a some projects. One is a special order 96” land leveler. Others include 5 shooting platforms with quick attach axles and draw bar, some heavy 12” beam work and a handrail. The students have all done exceptionally well in the shop this year. Most are looking forward to returning next year. A few are planning to explore some of the other trades, which is one of the greatest parts of the program. All students can get these experiences before they graduate high school. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.
Q: Why did you write to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about Ukraine?
We know that some local residents are hoping that showers bring out an abundance of fishing worms. At the Hamburg Public Library, we are hoping that showers or sunshine or the freedom of summer brings out worms, too. At the library, we’re not looking for fishing worms; however, we are expecting an abundance of book worms.
Mrs. B came into the emergency room one night, years ago, with some stress related issue. After taking her history, I began to suspect there was something else bothering her. As I was beginning her physical exam she blurted out, “I know there is a breast mass but you’re not going to send me to any breast cancer doctor!” She had already decided to avoid standard treatment and her next comment explained why, “My aunt suffered because of awful unnecessary surgery and chemotherapy,” she said. I sensed there was no changing her mind and that meant trouble for my patient.
The 2025 Downtown Summer Movie Series is scheduled to begin tomorrow (Saturday, June 7).
