Art Show 4-18-25

Sidney High School recently hosted the Corner Conference Art Show. Sidney art students received 85 ribbons and awards. Kaiden Stockstell received Best of Show Ribbon in the Advanced Photography Division and Macey Graham was selected for the Paul Andrew Clapper Excellence in Art Award in the Beginning Division. Twenty students received first place ribbons. Other students participating included Harlie Willis, Zsa Zsa Gomez, Brayden Inman, and Audrey Goodman. Submitted by Teresa Crecelius.

Vaccines 4-18-25

Jenna Hall, FFA President, Ag Student, and junior at Hamburg Charter High School is giving vaccines under the supervision of HCSD’s new FFA sponsor/Ag teacher Hunner Mascher and local cattle owner Melissa Beyer.

Volleyball Fundraiser

Members of the Hamburg Charter School volleyball team hosted a breakfast fundraiser for the program recently. Players working at the fundraiser included Emmerson Matheson, Keegan Matheson, Kodi Tysor, Alexa Avalos, Mackenna Mather, Hailee Michel, Peyton Belt, Haley Mullins, Hannah Thompson, Hilda Thompson, and Amber Graham along with Head Coach Emily Graham. My Journey to Becoming a Hospitalist

When I first moved to Brookings, the primary care physicians took care of their own patients in the hospital. We would round on patients in the morning before clinic or try to sneak over during lunch or after clinic. While I loved taking care of patients in the hospital, it was hard to juggle the responsibilities of both giving my attention to the patients in the hospital while seeing people in the clinic. Any time the hospital nurse had a question; my clinic nurse would have to interrupt a clinic visit or wait for me to between patients. This could lead to some less-than-ideal times where I was being pulled in multiple directions at once.
