Temporary road closures expected in Fremont County
Fremont County residents should be on the lookout for county road maintenance which could lead to temporary road closures in the coming days.Dan Davis, Fremont County Engineer, told KMA Radio that work is expected to begin soon on a box culvert at J64 just east of M16.
Local volunteers battle food insecurity, seek to raise funds
A local group of dedicated volunteers is working to battle food insecurity through the distribution of Local Food Purchasing Assistance food boxes in Southwest Iowa.L.I.F.E 5B, 501(c)(3) organization, began as a group of friends who shared a deep passion for growing their own food and homesteading along with the burning desire to help others.The group meets monthly and has a goal of ensuring families in Southwest Iowa have access to healthy and nutritious foods.

Every July, I celebrate another trip around the sun and then watch MLB players hit baseballs towards the moon.This year’s no different.My birthday happens this week and, on Monday, July 15, the Major Leaguers will be in action for the derby live from Globe Life Field, home of the 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers.On Tuesday, July 16, the players from the National League and American League will do battle in their annual exhibition.As a Atlanta Braves fan, I am happy to see that the team will have solid representation in that contest.The MLB All Star game is fun.
