Ernst, Grassley announce joint Academy information night online presentations

U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) announce their offices will hold joint United States Service Academy Virtual Informational Nights on Monday, May 1, and Tuesday, May 2, for Iowa students interested in applying to one of our nation’s military academies. Every year, Ernst and Grassley each nominate 10 students to the academies.

Childcare remains a workforce issue in both our metropolitan areas and rural communities, with childcare availability having a direct impact on employers and economic growth.

Especially for Young Readers

This week we’re sharing titles that have recently been acquired by Hamburg Public Library with our younger readers in mind. “I Heart Grandpa with the Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “I Heart Grandma with the Very Hungry Caterpillar” incorporate the artwork of Eric Carle with stories by Gabriella DeGennaro. Both stories for young readers provide examples of why a grandparent might be loved. In his signature style of large soft-colored drawings and simple words, author/illustrator Kevin Henkes offers a fun new picture book “The World and Everything in It.” Your young readers will be reminded of little things, big things and middle things that make up our world.
