LCC Academic Decathlon places third at state

The Lourdes Central Catholic Academic Decathlon team placed third at state competition at Bellevue University on Friday, Feb. 17, and Saturday, Feb. 18. Cora Krog was the team’s top scorer - she earned silver medals in Honors Music, Literature, and Interview. Evie Dorman earned a silver in Honors Speech. Theresa Gygi earned gold in Scholastic Speech and a silver in Scholastic Interview. Andrew Bakula earned a bronze in Scholastic Music. Ella Ragland earned a bronze in Varsity Math. Honors Alternate Makenzie Green earned silvers in Fine Arts and Hard Sciences. Scholastic Alternate Murphy Roby earned gold in Soft Sciences, silver in Fine Arts, and bronze in Hard Sciences. Varsity Alternate Gabriela Serna earned silvers in Fine Arts, Soft Sciences, and Hard Sciences. This year’s theme was “The American Revolution and the New Nation.”
