PSC women begin season with split

The Peru State women’s basketball season began over the weekend as they went 1-1 on their first road of the year. On Friday night, they defeated Central Christian College 82-63. On Saturday night they were defeated by McPherson 73-56. Game 1 at Central Christian College The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair as neither team could get out to a big lead. The Tigers could only extend out their lead by three before Danielle Howard (Uniontown, Kan.) hit a jumper to make the score 14-13 Central Christian.

Peru State volleyball plays final road matches

The Peru State volleyball team hit the road for the final time this season as they played William Penn Friday night falling 3-0 and Grand View on Saturday afternoon in three sets. The Bobcats are now 6-22 overall and 3-15 in Heart of America Athletic Conference Play. Game 1 at William Penn William Penn started out on fire in the first set as they got out to a 13-4 lead, then a kill by Keiley Hein (Omaha) stopped the bleeding for the Bobcats as they trailed 13-5. The Bobcats would get within seven twice in the first set as Lauren Moubray (Mission, Tex.) would get a few kills sandwiched in between an error by the Statesmen.
