I’ve been hooked on newspapers for as long as I can remember. My daughter knows that and recently gifted me with a box of the Weeping Water Republicans. They were in pristine condition and chock full of information. That weekly paper was delivered to the mailbox of the subscriber for a mere $3.50 if you lived in Cass County. If you lived anywhere in Nebraska you had to add 50 cents to that.

Fremont County Board of Supervisors meeting summaries

Following are summaries of the July and August Fremont County Board of Supervisors meeting, written from the meeting minutes: July 6: Supervisors heard public comments on the proposed wind turbine project for more than an hour. The board approved a resolution establishing a public hearing on Aug. 17 for a proposed Highway 2/I-29 Crossroads levee district. Board members accepted a $400,000 settlement for 2019 flood damages from Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad.

PSC names Homecoming grand marshals

Peru State College recently announced the selection of their Grand Marshals for this weekend’s 2022 Homecoming. Alumni and long-time supporters of Peru State College, Paul (’67) and Arlene (Borcher ’67) Fell of Lincoln, and Jerry (’64) and Christina (Banks ’88) Joy of Stella were selected by the Student Senate as the Grand Marshals for 2022.
