The Fremont County Vet Clinic and RIA Advisory Group will present Southwest Iowa Battle with the Bulls on Aug. 26 and 27 at the Hackett Field ball diamond and football field in Farragut. The new site makes it possible to have the beer garden, after-party, and stage all in the same location.
Life is returning to the former Hamburg Inn, which received heavy flood damage in 2019. Nic Robbins, who purchased the property in 2021, is remodeling the space and finding new uses as a business center for Hamburg dubbed Commerce on Main Street.

The reputation of black mold, which can look black or greenish-black, likely has something to do with its appearance. But homeowners still have reason to be fearful of mold in their homes, regardless of what color the mold may be. That's because mold can lead to a host of unwelcome health problems, including stuffy nose, sore throat, coughing or wheezing, burning eyes, or skin rash. Symptoms may be even worse for people with asthma and mold allergies.
The members of Heritage Needlework Guild donated $750 to the Syracuse Food Pantry in July. Members of the Guild live in eight different counties in Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa.

Hamburg Locker, a meat processing business which broke ground on a new facility in May of 2021, is nearing completion. Jake Jones, owner of the Hamburg Locker, said the business is about two weeks from opening.

During July and August, Farmland Leasing and Management Workshops will be held throughout Iowa at various locations. Farmland leasing workshops are an annual event to share educational resources related to Iowa farmland ownership and tenancy with Iowa farmland owners, tenants, and others involved in agricultural production in the state.
Southwestern Community College made it official, beginning this fall the college will field a bass fishing team for the first time in college history and Cory Dorsey of Corning will lead the Spartan anglers.
