Tabitha taps Swenseth as TEAMember of the Year

Nonprofit Tabitha, Nebraska’s industry-leading Senior Care provider, honored Dayna Swenseth, Director of Nursing as Tabitha’s annual TEAMember of the Year. Swenseth, shares her time and talent at Tabitha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebr. She is responsible for leading all nursing units and was spotlighted for her successful management of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Farm to Table task force makes recommendations to Iowa Legislature

A diverse group of local food experts from across the state submitted a set of recommendations to the Iowa Legislature that are intended to improve the farm to table supply chain. The Farm to Table Task force commissioned during the 2021 state legislative session and led by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach met over the last several months.

Fremont County Sheriff

FCH traffic stop results in two arrests Sheriff Kevin Aistrope reported that on Dec. 25, at approximately 12:35 p.m., deputies with the Fremont County K9 Unit stopped a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix for fraudulent license plates at the 19-mile marker, southbound on I-29.

Southwest Iowa wrestling team competes

Photos by Kirt Manion CherryRoad Media The Southwest Iowa wrestling team competed in a pair of Nebraska tournaments over the weekend with the boys’ team placing eighth out of 16 teams at the Thuderbird Invitational hosted by Johnson County Central at Cook and the girls’ team placing 19th out of 23 teams at the Platteview Invite. Placers for the boys’ team were Andreas Buttry, second at 106; Kyle Kesterson, third at 138; Sam Daly, third at 220; and Chance Roof, fourth at 285.

Russell Grant Welch

Russell Grant Welch was born on May 18, 1955, in Robbinsdale, MN, to Russell N. Welch and Margarette (Marge) Runyon Welch. To welcome Russ home was his older brother, Charles (Chuck). Later the family was joined by Scott, Leroy and finally the baby and only sister, Allene.
