SEDHD announces COVID-19 case in Otoe County

The Southeast District Health Department (SEDHD) has confirmed a second positive case of coronavirus (COVID-19) within the district.

The person is a woman in her seventies who lives in Otoe County. She had been direct contact with a family member who was showing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 and had recently returned from travel to Colorado.

She became symptomatic on March 24 and was tested on March 30. She reported mild symptoms and currently self-isolated.

SEDHD has interviewed all individuals who had been in contact with this person. The appropriate health authorities have been notified of those residing outside of the southeast district.

All individuals identified as direct contacts to this individual are in self-quarantine and actively monitored by public health officials for fever and symptoms of respiratory disease.
