Nemaha County COVID-19 case update

The Southeast District Health Department (SEDHD) has completed its contact investigation for the first positive coronavirus (COVID-19) case confirmed in Nemaha County.

The person, a man in his sixties, developed symptoms consistent with COVID-19 on March 9 and returned from his travel to Colorado on March 10. He was tested on March 18 and informed of a positive test result on March 19. He has reportedly been in self-quarantine since returning from travel and has reportedly not been in a public setting locally since he returned.

All individuals who had been in contact with this person have been interviewed by SEDHD. The appropriate health authorities have been notified of those residing outside of the southeast district.

All individuals identified as direct contacts to this individual are in self-quarantine and actively monitored by public health officials for fever and symptoms of respiratory disease.
