The Sidney Cowgirls took down Fremont-Mills for the third consecutive time this season after a first round 53-36 regional win. Danica Laumann knocked down three three's and led the Cowgirls with eight rebounds on Thursday, February 13.

Sidney and Fremont-Mills have met four times this year.  On December 17, the Knights defeated the Cowgirls 38-35.  Since then, Sidney rattled off three straight victories against their rival.     Sidney took charge early and led 17-7 after the first quarter.  The Knights cut into the deficit and by halftime the Cowgirls led 26-20.  In the second half,  the Cowgirls defense held Fremont-Mills to 16 total points.   Laumann was 3 for 5 from behind the arc and finished with nine points and eight rebounds.   Maddy Duncan was the games leading scorer with 23 points.  Chay Ward scored 10 points; Olivia Larsen, five; Alexis Massey, four; Kaden Payne, two.   Larsen was the Cowgirls assist leader with six, and Duncan led with four steals.   Kaelyn Driskell led the Knights with 11 points.   Box score: Sid-17-9-15-12--53 F.M.-7-13-7-9--36    The Cowgirls are 14-7 and have won seven straight.  Sidney will be @ Exira-EHK on Tuesday, February 18.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
