After their loss to Clarinda on Wednesday, the Sidney Cowgirls softball team bounced back in a big way by winning convincingly against St. Albert 17-2 in four innings, as Danica Laumann went 1-for-2 with a HR, two rbi, three runs scored, and three stolen bases on Friday, June 1, at Council Bluffs.

The Cowgirls came out aggressive in the first inning by scoring four runs.  Olivia Larsen reached on an error and later scored on a passed ball.  After Camryn McClintock and Zoe Moores walked, Sidnie Baier smacked a single to drive in both runners.  Jayden Smith took her turn by driving in a run with an rbi single.

In the top half of the second, Larsen tripled and scored on a passed ball to take a 5-0 lead.
Sidney would then score 12 total runs in the next two innings.  Jolie Sheldon hit an rbi single in the third followed by a solid two rbi double by Liz Lang.

Presley Brumbaugh stepped to the plate in the fourth and came away with an rbi double.  Danica Laumann drilled a two run HR as Sidney went on to win 17-2.

Olivia Larsen started in the circle for Sidney and hurled all four innings by allowing two hits, two runs, and two strikeouts for the win.

“Great bounce back game for us,” Coach Kent Larsen said.  “Took control early and got production from 1-9 in the lineup.  We are excited for Danica with her home run.”
